Metropolitan Community College, Kansas City, Missouri (MCCKC) seeks recommendations, nominations and applications for the position of President of Innovation & Online Learning. The President of Innovation and Online Learning will work in collaboration and strategically with the Chancellor and other Campus Presidents to help shape and define the future of the Online Campus, in collaboration with faculty, staff, senior administrators, students, corporate leaders, and community stakeholders.

 

MCCKC operates as one college with five campuses and other educational sites, under the leadership of Chancellor Kimberly Beatty, now serving in her eighth year at the College. MCCKC is one of the largest public education providers in the area, serving approximately 30,000 students annually. From its early days and humble beginnings, MCCKC has consistently focused on positive change and growth to provide students and the community growth through education. Since 2020, MCCKC has added a total of 187,960 square feet of new or expanded facilities, including the Automotive Institute addition.

 

MCC-Online serves the as the College’s virtual campus providing access to students to complete any of seven degrees and 11 certificates fully online. MCC-Online offers comprehensive student services all at a distance, with the goal of providing an exceptional online experience for all students. Through quality design and support practices, MCC-Online creates a quality experience for all students, with deliberate consideration of universal design concepts.

 

The new President of Innovation and Online Learning will need to be strategic about growing the enrollment of the Online Campus, while not negatively impacting the enrollment of the other MCC campuses. The President will need to find additional ways to enhance the Online Campus’ financial viability, to potentially include utilizing effective fundraising strategies, through grants and donations. The ideal candidate will have a record of successful executive-level experience with a community college or a multicampus college system, a talent and enthusiasm for fundraising, experience working with a governing board and an appreciation for shared governance.
