    The next Dean of The Bill Munday School of Business will guide a strong, progressive academic school to new heights of excellence marked by full accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and through strong connections with the vibrant, entrepreneurial and innovative business community in Austin, Texas.


    Established in 1885 by the Congregation of the Holy Cross, St. Edward’s is a private liberal arts university based in Austin with a network of partner universities around the world. The University’s founders believed that the mind must not be cultivated at the expense of the heart, a belief that is still embraced by the University today. St. Edward’s offers over 60 bachelors and master’s degree programs to approximately 4,600 students from 45 states and 58 countries. Minority enrollment accounts for 51% of the student body and more than 40 faith traditions are represented.


    Business education in The Bill Munday School of Business is built on five pillars that reflect Austin’s dynamic business environment: entrepreneurial thinking, social enterprise, innovation management, global collaboration, and business analytics. Undergraduate majors and minors are offered in 10 disciplines housed in four departments: Accounting; Finance and Economics; Management; and Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Digital Management. There are three graduate degrees: MBA, Master’s in Accountancy, and M.S. in Digital Marketing and Analytics. Approximately 920 undergraduate and 200 graduate students are enrolled. There are 30 full-time faculty in the School.


    Reporting to the Provost, the Dean provides vision and leadership in all areas of the School’s operation. The Dean is expected to guide the School in completing its preparation for accreditation and to further develop strong partnerships with the business sector of Austin. Qualifications include an earned doctorate in a business field with a strong scholarship/service record; progressive academic administrative experience; familiarity with business accreditation (preferably AACSB); a record of success in external relations, particularly fund-raising; and a desire to embrace and actualize the Holy Cross mission, among others.
