The Mount St. Mary’s University community seeks a Dean of the School of Natural Science & Mathematics who will be the principal champion for innovative vision, leadership, and strategic direction for the School and its academic programs.
Mount St. Mary’s University (MSMU) is a comprehensive, coeducational, Catholic institution dedicated to liberal learning in the pursuit of truth. The second oldest Catholic university in the country, MSMU describes itself as “Catholic in a contemporary way” and welcomes students of all faiths and backgrounds. Located in Emmitsburg, Maryland, MSMU serves more than 2,000 diverse undergraduate and graduate students at its two locations (Emmitsburg and Frederick, MD), promoting a holistic approach to the student experience and learning. MSMU prides itself on a student to teacher ratio of 13:1 and that 52% of classes have fewer than 20 students.
The School of Natural Science & Mathematics integrates the liberal arts core curriculum with exceptional major coursework, allowing students to gain knowledge in their core field, all while building skills in leadership, analysis, and social justice.
